At this time the Woodforest Charitable Foundation’s primary focus across the country is hunger relief. We believe our focus on child-hood hunger provides the most significant impact within an individual’s life

Hunger Relief:
Food is a basic requirement needed to sustain a healthy life. Children who lack proper nourishment are affected in a variety of ways. Hunger impacts a child’s development physically, emotionally and socially and can last a lifetime. More than 16 million children live in food insecure households in America. WCF is committed to supporting programs such as the Backpack program which provides a weekend food supply to children who may otherwise go without. WCF partners with organizations which support child nutrition programs:
  • Food Banks
  • Food Pantries

Housing:
WCF provides funding to organizations whose mission is to provide decent housing to the working poor and disabled veterans. A home is more than a physical location. It is a place of safety and stability for adults, teens and children. A home can provide both physical and emotional security. WCF partners with:
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Helping a Hero

Health:
WCF partners with community non-profit agencies  that strive to improve healthcare for low-income families and individuals who are uninsured or under-insured

Family Support:
WCF provides funding to organizations whose mission is to empower disadvantaged, abused, neglected or those considered to be at-risk so that they may overcome obstacles, build a better future and become productive, contributing member of society. Such programs are:
  • Shelters
  • Children homes
  • Homeless
  • Abuse intervention
  • Battered women’s shelters
  • Child advocacy organizations
  • At-risk youth programs
  • Support of the mentally challenged
